Designed to locate large dump trucks, the system has been developed for the following aims: Real-time monitoring of operations and construction work (time, location, amount of work) and data feedback to operating instructions. Providing data for operation planning and work scheduling/rescheduling. Reduction of the work loads of staff and operators and improvement of the work environment. Conventional work control was carried out by controlling working hours and transportation frequency. A newly developed method permits the automatic collection/totalization of data including working sites (loading and filling) and the amount of work (the amount of transportation) with the simultaneous use of GPS, one-vehicle load cells and IC cards.
