A new linear time-domain computational model for three-dimensional free surface flows is based on Rankine singularities distributed over the boundaries of a closed computational domain. Starting from rest, the generationof gravity waves by moving boundaries, their propagation and interaction with fixed or freely floating bodies can be simulated. Wave and body motions, pressures and forces, mass and energy integrals are typical results ofthe computations. An efficient damping zone on a part of the free surfaceabsorbs outgoing waves and enables the simulation of flows in unbounded domains. The computer code may be considered as a linearized numerical wavebasin.
