During the Seventies and Eighties a new and widespread environmental awareness led industry and particularly the motor manufacturers to seek ways of minimising the effects of atmospheric and water pollution. In addressing this project, FIAT AUTO starts from the basis of its achievements in the field of materials ecology in recent years: the elimination of asbestos fibres, the substitution of Cadmium, and the substitution of CFC's. More recently, attention has also turned to the problem of pollution by solids for which recycling is the possible solution.
