For decades converting automotive engines for aircraft use has attracted great interest. This is mainly because of the high cost of aircraft engines. Electromotive has adapted two automotive derived engines for aircraft, one for the 'Pond Racer', a Reno type unlimited air racer and the other a commercial crop duster. The method of selecting the engines, the components chosen, and the modifications made are discussed.
