Using a principal component analysis, regression formulae for resistanceas well as trim and draft changes of planing craft are derived. The analysis is based on towing tests of 13 models of 2,5m length. Each model was tested in 6 conditions differing with respect to displacement and center ofgravity. The accuracy of the formulae is tested by applying them to results for 5 additional model conditions and to trial results of a full-scale torpedo boat:
