The deflection and strain response of six marine sandwich panels to uniform pressure loading are investigated. Panels are full scale typical of those found in a 40 foot high performance deep-vee monohull. Three combinations of matrix-reinforcement are used in the panel faces and AIREX is used as the core material. A panel test mechanism applies uniform pressure to a central panel test section that is 30 by 60 inches which is isolated by one panel span to simulate in situ boundary conditions. Two pressure loading rates (static and cyclic) are employed allowing examination of viscoelastic effects. Additionally, a material and mechanical characterization of the sandwich panel lower faces is conducted.
