The driving simulator SCORE is designed to conduct human engineering studies on car interiors. It is a new testing mean to help ergonomists to assess the visual attention of drivers in connection with instrument scanning, and to measure any collateral driving disturbance. The visual system allows to render a sufficiently detailed road environment. The software allows to design any type of road scenery with the help of menus. Visual simulation is controlled by a mathematical model which describes the dynamic behavior of an automobile when the driver navigates through the visual database using traditional driving controls mounted inside a mock-up.
