The aim of this paper is to specify the necessary information that should be provided to the driver of a moving vehicle into interurban road environment by ATT systems. Through qualitative and/or quantitative information about sudden confrontation with road geometric inconsistencies, the driver expectancy may be appropriately adapted. Therefore, the driver may apply changes to vehicle speed in-time and far upstream of such complex road features, guiding it safely and efficiently. Studying the vehicle dynamics during its motion under all possible modes (driving braking, cornering) and various meteorological conditions (wind, dry/icy/wet pavement), a number of vehicle-road parameters are determined that influence the safety margins of motion, and which should be correctly estimated or recognised by the driver in order to formulate his/her moving strategy (speed). Such an analysis leads to specifications about the data that should be gathered in real time, or that should be stored in a data base superimpose to spatially referenced base map, so that useful information to be dissiminated to the driver in order to safely guide the vehicle with smooth and minor speed changes.
