This paper describes the special techniques used to perform a static solution of a large superelement structural model with nonlinear material behavior. A DMAP procedure to perform a manual superelement analysis was developed to allow resequencing of the residual during a solution sequence 66 nonlinear material run. Resequencing of the residual was required due to the large number of degrees of freedom necessary to represent the nonlinear material regions. A DMAP procedure to perform data recovery of the superelement from the boundary displacements from the nonlinear run was also developed. Results from the residual and the superelement were combined and postprocessed using PATRAN. This analysis procedure can be applied to any MSC/NASTRAN superelement run in which resequencing the residual structure is necessary.
