The influence of two cement admixtures (a greek natural pozzolan and a greek fly ash) on the corrosion of the reinforcement of concrete specimens exposed in the sea was studied. The addition of fly ash, in percentages 15 % and 30 %, showed a protective influence. The natural pozzolan showed also a protective influence, which was more evident for the higher content used (30 %). A general relationship was observed between the results of the electrochemical and of the direct weight loss measurements.
