A new advanced production process for aircraft structural components of carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastics (CFRT) has been developed in several studies. For the first time, the new carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP) composite has successfully met the far-reaching requirements of the German aviation authority as a horizontal stabilizer leading-edge profile and as an air brake. The components are now being tested in regular flight operation.
