Steel-plastic-steel laminated sheet has been developed for the weight reduction and vibration damping of automobile panels. However several press failures occur, such as a breakage in the hemming process and a folding at the flange in the bending process. To prevent those failures, the effect of the press conditions and the core film mechanical property were examined. It was found that the increase in the first-bending radius suppresses the breakage and that the loading of moderate counter pressure prevents the folding. It is concluded that the decrease in the shear deformation of the core films suppresses the press failures of the laminated sheet.
