Maintenance management for complex weapon systems within the US Air Force can now be controlled using a single workstation performing all processing and data entry functions. A Zenith Z-248, the standard Air Force microcomputer, serves the dual role of groundstation to various aircraft integrated diagnostics programs and terminal to the Base Level management information systems. This single workstation concept will dramatically reduce the types and variety of hardware necessary to support weapon system maintenance management and alleviate the burdensome requirement to transport a plethora of ADP hardware on deployment. Also, the cost and workload associated with the repair and maintenance of different terminal systems is substantially reduced.
