A proper control of tire forces by additional steering during cornering can improve the vehicle behaviour at critical situations like my-split conditions. Theoretical investigations by means of a complex 4-wheel vehicle model prove that additional small steering angles at each of the 4 wheels can locate on which side of the car the wheels operate at low friction and reduce the deviations with respect to the initial circular path. The effect of different control-strategies using only lateral carbody acceleration and jaw velocity as input values are compared under my-split conditions with various length.
