Traditionally payloads have been deployed from a non-accelerating quiescent spacecraft. This is of course the most attractive, low risk method to precisely deploy objects which have velocity and pointing accuracy requirements. But, deploying objects from an accelerating vehicle presents on opportunity of possibly saving weight and sometimes critical time. This paper briefly discusses the major issues and considerations in developing an accelerating platform payload deployment system.
