Turbulent incompressible wing-body junction flow is examined using a three-dimensional incompressible Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes solver and a mixing length turbulence model. Results are presented for flow around a wing mounted on a flat plate in a wind tunnel, and flow around a support strut inside a turnaround duct. A multiple-zone method is implemented for the complex turnaround duct geometry. Comparisons against data are made for the wing-flat plate case, revealing generally good agreement between observed and predicted values of static pressure on the flat plate, size of the horseshoe vortex system, and mean velocities. The computational results for a strut inside a turnaround duct display many of the same overall flow featuring, includes a region of steep adverse pressure gradient on the inner and outer turnaround duct walls ahead of the strut, and two horseshoe vortex systems associated with the intersection of the strut and inner and outer turnaround duct walls.
