The development of 2-cycle and 4-cycle model engines with regard to fuel and lubricant problems is reviewed and a satisfactory solution for the lubrication of these engines operating on methanol fuel is proposed. The results can be considerred as part of a basic study about methanol fuel for engines in general and the evaluation of lubricating oils.
