'Yawing center' may be considered significant information for a driver to control vehicle handling performance. 'Yawing center' means the point around which the driver feels that the vehicle is rotating while in yawing motion. This paper introduces a definition of 'yawing center' of a vehicle and analyses by computer simulation with two-degree of freedom mathematical model. As a result of those analyses, it is found that it may be possible to control rear wheel steer angle to keep 'yawing center' on some desired position and that with such a control as keeping 'yawing center' constant we can improve handling performance compared with a front-wheel steering car or a steering ratio of rear to front constant four-wheel steering car.
