Simulation and its use in the aerospace industry are examined with emphasis on a case study at Aerojet Electro Systems. The changing manufacturing environment and the reasons for using simulation in aerospace manufacturing are explored, along with various approaches to performing simulation experiments. Part of the case study is a discussion of the process of justifying a new manufacturing facility and the use of simulation at Aerojet Electro Systems. The project and its accomplishment of a practical and successful application of computer simulation in an aerospace manufacturing environment are discussed.
