The present paper discusses the industrial requirements concerning aerodynamic data especially with respect to new technologies. The need for more sophisticated but industrial adapted experimental techniques is pointed out. The second part of the paper demonstrates the utilization of three different measuring techniques in transport aircraft wind tunnel tests. These methods, X-hot wires, computational Preston tubes and Piezofoil technique are known from laboratory tests, but proved to work efficient and with great benefit in industry experiments as well.
