The design of road and cross country vehicles is always confronted with the question whether to use rigid frame or independent wheel suspension. There has always been some disagreement about the functionality, quality and usability of one or the other, and in literature this problem has not yet given a concrete solution. Therefore TAM tries to clarify this question for some types of cross country vehicles of its production, on the basis of known mass and dimensional data of a prototype model TAM 110 T7 into which three types of independent wheel suspension were adapted: a general type, a Tatra or Steyr-Daimler-Puch type used in a Pinzgauer vehicle, and a McPerson type.
