Diagnosic tools capable of resolving thrusters plume flowfield mass and velocity distributions are needed for the modeling, design, and certification of EP devices. A mass/velocity analyzer based on the principles of time-of-flight mass spectrometry and time-of-flight velocimetry is described. This analyzer is capable of simultaneous time-resolved monitoring for six selected masses with velocities from 1 to 50 km/s.
