Recent advances in blow molding technology and engineering thermoplastics have created a new awareness of the design opportunities available with this process. A detailed cost comparison can show that an integrated blow molded system is less expensive to produce that the corresponding injection molded system. This type of analysis is appropriate for all future application development studies using the same key factors discussed here. Today, the blow molding process can be applied to future applications such as bumper systems, body panels and seating.
