This paper presents the multiobjective optimal design of induction motor for Electric Vehicle (EV) using a modified evolution strategy (ES). The Optimization process is performed by using (1+1) evolution strategy (ES). The conventional ES algorithm falls into a trap of local minima with high probability in solving the optimization problem that has many design variables. To overcome this problem, ES algorithm is modified by introducing shaking technique. To verify its validity, the proposed method is applied to an induction motor design.
