The paper continues to discuss virtual environment (VE) technology development at NASA sites. As was stated in the first article, VE technology development has been part of NASA's human factor research program since 1985. Under the auspices of the Office of Aeronautics and Space Technology (OAST), initial funding was provided to Ames Research Center, which resulted in the origination of VE. VR-related research and development projects at NASA sites have often been the sources of ideas and personnel for succeeding commercial VR development. The two-part article concludes with a review of Virtual Environment projects at Johnson Space Center (JSC) and Marshall Space Flight Center. JSC is responsible for manned space-flight research, development, and applications; and, for astronaut training. I look at some of the current research and development in VE technology that's going on there.
