Describes the design of a high resolution electro-optic sensor payload suitable for a light satellite (lightsat) in low Earth orbit. Advances in satellite bus technologies, coupled to improved focal plane sensors, make such programs attractive and put them within the capabilities of Australian industry. Trade-offs between visible and infrared sensors are noted.
