The authors propose a method for estimating the reliability of pipeline networks of an arbitrary configuration. The basic concept is applicable to any engineering network regardless of its functional purpose, although the description is made with special reference to distributive gas supply networks. They have formulated algorithms for the hydraulic analysis of a network taking into account technological constraints at system sources and drains. They derive formulae for two-sided estimates of reliability indicators. The model has been implemented as a program that can be run on a personal computer. An example of a calculation is given.
