For the purpose of shortening of the development period and improvement of product quality, application of CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) has been promoted. Particularly, supercomputer-applied simulation technology has given effect to diversified and multifunctional automobile development. The results expected are improvement of simulation quality (accuracy of analysis) and quantity (shortening of cycle time), and extension of applicable areas of simulation including collision analysis of the body, automobile aerodynamics analysis, engine airflow and combustion analysis and real-time driving analysis.
