The author reviews the status of the microwave and millimeter wave monolithic integrated circuits (MIMIC) program by describing some of its current and planned insertions into Department of Defense systems. He surveys smart weapons, electronic warfare, radars, and communications. He points out that MIMIC technology has already found its way into numerous military applications. Some fielded systems are currently using chips from MIMIC production lines.
