Gives an overview of the present analogue flight calibration system on the National Air Traffic Services Flight Calibration Unit (NATS FCU) aircraft, and describes the differences between it and the replacement digital system. The FCU at Stansted Airport operates two HS748 aircraft for flight inspection of navigation aids. The basic requirements that influenced the choice of aircraft for flight calibration are outlined.
