Summary form only given, as follows. The advantages of the superconducting homopolar machine for marine electric propulsion system are introduced and the design, fabrication and test of its key components are described. These include the NaK liquid metal current collection apparatus and its system, large inside diameter superconducting magnet, a demountable cryostat, superconducting switch a superconducting magnet protection system and a voltage-sensitive resistor for energy-transfer. The design of the superconducting magnet, the cryostat and the current collection apparatus of the 300 kW superconducting homopolar machine using solid brush current collection, is described
