Investigates the problem of approximate estimation of the probability of a certain scalar variable (depending on a random vector quantity with a Gaussian distribution) exceeding a given value. An asymptotic formula for the sought probability is obtained by means of quadratic approximation of the level surface of the variable under consideration. A numerical method for integrating the probability density is discussed. An example of applying the proposed method to the problem of aircraft landing is considered.
