There is an increasing demand for low-cost, reliable electronic switching of electric motors in motor vehicles. Despite the wide variety of motor types and drive configurations, there is a Philips power MOSFET solution available to suit it. The broad range of types includes L2FETs, sensorFETs, FREDFETs and devices with on-chip intelligence. The combination of low on-state resistance, ease of drive and ruggedness make them an attractive choice in the arduous automotive environment.
