The authors discuss the nonsinusoidal currents induced in the spacecraft power system by nonlinear devices and loads. These currents are written in terms of a fundamental and harmonic components using standard Fourier analysis. The harmonic components, along with the corresponding voltages, are predicted by a harmonic power flow that uses the Newton-Raphson numerical algorithm. The algorithm uses the harmonic current components to solve for the voltage levels throughout the system by means of an iterative technique that decouples and solves for each harmonic individually.
