The authors discuss an AB multiplexing system for body electrical control which has been developed to go with its central controller system. It can also be used as a stand-alone system. The system developed utilises four wire links to remote units on a star network. As a consequence, commonality of remote units is possible. Such remote units can be placed about a vehicle at strategic positions such as in the doors and seats, and the front and rear of a vehicle, controlling lights and other functions such as security.
