Standard commercial, or even military, electronic connectors typically must join two or more electrical conductors with a minimum of interference to current flow, a minimum amount of space and cost, and maximum reliability and ease of operation for the task at hand. Connectors made to operate in high-fluid-pressure or corrosive environments face additional requirements that translate into tradeoffs (price vs. reliability, size vs. ease of operation, etc.). A conical interface is presented that provides a significant breakthrough in terms of performance, cost, and ease of operation.
