The electrical design of solar cell arrays for space applications requires consideration of many unique criteria. The authors present a review and brief explanation of the major factors which affect space vehicle arrays along with an outline of the design process that leads to the selection of a solar array design that fulfils the power requirements of the spacecraft at all times.
