The Tsugaru-Kaikyo Line is a railway line totaling 87.5 km in length, including the Seikan tunnel. Because of this tunnel, all related facilities and equipment are required to deliver high reliability and excellent disaster prevention features. The authors describe the gas-insulated switchgear and the switchgear interlock system used in the two substations.
