An overview is presented of the required algorithm for electronic warfare (EW) situation-assessment, its interfaces with the multisensor fusion function and the resource/response management (R2M) function, and threat data support needs. The algorithm requirements discussed include; threat reference, intent, lethality, countermeasures effectiveness, and risk. The author describes how Kalman filtering and EW expert rules-of-thumb comprise the basis of performing EW situation assessment.
