Indonesian State Railways, or PJKA, now under the supervision of the Government of Indonesia, has been well pleased with the extraordinary passenger increases that have occurred within the railway network in the Jakarta metropolitan area along with the expansion of railway electrification. The author examines the sophisticated technological equipment that has enabled enhanced performance in railway substations. The network has thus to date provided electrification development to over 95.5 km over the Jakarta metropolitan area. The author takes a brief look at the background of the renovation program and the technical features of the railway substation equipment in operation.
