The methodology and results of the reliability analysis of the AUSSAT spacecraft are presented. The overall spacecraft reliability model is discussed, with particular attention to the communications payload which contains a high level of redundancy and inter-connectivity. The analysis shows that the contractual reliability requirements are exceeded by a comfortable margin, giving good confidence that AUSSAT will continue to function for at least its design lifetime.
