This paper addresses compatibility issues for battery charger power electronics and the electrical distribution system. Section II summarizes the technical specifications of the various battery chargers utilized and their power electronic architectures. Section III provides an overview of the distribution system feeding the geographically concentrated charger load. The development of the simulation model is discussed in Section IV, and Section V compares simulation results with experimental measurements. Section VI presents simulation scenarios selected to illustrate important considerations in designing an EV charging infrastructure. Key findings and conclusions are highlighted in Section VII.
