The demonstration PV system preformed as designed without failure. Adequate power was supplied to operate the surveillance system 24 hours per day year-round. The PV system provided quite reliable power without generating any pollution. In the future the FDOT (Florida Department of Transportation) intend to use more PV power systems as the number of sites increase. The surveillance and Monitoring System had a few sites that did not have electrical power readily available without extensive equipment and labor cost to provide the needed power to operate. Also, as the surveillance systems expands in the future, a few new sites along 1-4 intersection will be in remote location without electrical power. This demonstration project proved the viability of PV power system to be a source of cost-effective, reliable power.
