In this paper a new 35 kW one phase rectifier module with very high efficiency is presented. By use of a special favourable method of current-regulated modulation it is possible to achieve an input power-factor to near one. Furthermore it is possible to connect several modules in parallel to increase the total power. This concept allowas to divide the total installed power into several small modules and distribute them over the given place, if there is enough place to install one large rectifier. In case of connecting several modules in parallel it is not becessary to connect its contro circuits. The feature reduces the connecting expense. The presented rectifier module was designed to be used in modern high-speed trains to supply all inverters, especially the air conditioning inverter, from the 50 Hz or the 16 2/3 Hz 380 V one-phase AC network.
