This paper shows developments and applications which are mainly driven by the economy, environmental compatibility, safety and convenience. It gives an overview on the physical principle, the design, and the technology of integrated sensors. Representing sensors for Automotive which means high volume, long term stability, high reliability aspects, severe environmental conditions. As examples of the big variety of possible sensors the report will show Hall effect-, Mass airflow- and micromachined Acceleration sensors. This paper also shows the potential future relationships between OEM, manufacturer and component supplier in such a way that each can contribute his particular know-how, his special ability to make the most of their cooperation. As a result to fulfill the today requirements of the automotive industry in terms of competitiveness and cycle time.
