A fuzzy-neuro control system called FAMOUS (Fuzzy Associative Memory Organizing Units System) is presented. The FAMOUS represents two types of knowledge: static fuzzy knowledge and dynamic fuzzy knowledge. An Expert's fuzzy knowledge is initially put into the FAMOUS, and is refined by the expert's ideal operations using the learning algorithm. After the learning, the uncertain knowledge is better at representing the featured phenomena than before learning. In this paper, two application examples are reported: the flight control of a helicopter and the smooth running of a sewage pump station. The examples confirm that FAMOUS can represent both kinds of fuzzy knowledge and can refine that knowledge by learning.
