Two unconventional waveguide power combiners are presented to be used in the recombining network of a SSPA (Solid State Power Amplifier). Their design is performed exploiting a novel CAD tool, which permits to obtain compact and lightweight junctions. Thanks to the very low recombination loss deriving from the use of waveguide junctions, the design and the operation of a K-band multidevice amplifier is feasible. A very good agreement between simulation and experiment is reported.
