The experimental results of the series connected AMTEC cells and the theoretical considerations about internal resistances have been reported. For the series cells, the open voltage of 2.73 V, the short circuit current of 20 A and the maximum power of 9.24 W at 1077 K have been obtained. This popwer was about 60 % of the sum power of each single cell. This power decrease was due to the large resistance of current collecting bus bar. In design study, numerical data which seemed to be achieved in near future were assumed. The claculated output power, total cell number, reactor thermal output, radiator output, efficiency and total mass were 300 kW, 3415 cells, 1032 kWt, 732 kWt, 29 % and 8059 kg, respectively.
