NOAA and GMS satellites provide remote sensing data in the visible and infrared spectral bands. This paper discusses and compares both satellites, and describe receiving systems for the satellites which have been manufactured and installed by PCM Electronics, a Melbourne based electronics company. These systems were initially built and installed on contracts to the Australian Bureau of Meteorology.
