Fiber Optic Sensor technology has reached a point where it is now a major factor in the design of the next generation of Inertial Measurement Units (IMU). Because of the Fiber Optic Sensors unique characteristics, the next generation of IMUs will offer lower cost, large dynamic range, precision, flexibility of design, and affordable fault tolerant system design.
